Alkanstrand (meaning ‘both sides beach’) lies next to the warm Indian Ocean and has a Blue Flag status, which means that it is clean, safe and environmentally friendly.
Lifeguards are on duty daily, all through the year. There are lush picnic spots available as well as designated braai areas. If you prefer eating indoors there is a restaurant situated nearby. Toilet facilities on the beach are open to the public.
